Today we got our first chickens... finally!! Matt has been done with the coop for a few weeks, now, but he still had to work on fencing for the girls. Although that is still a work in progress, we decided to go ahead and get a few chickens to get started. We went to get 2 or 3, but ended up with 4!! Since they have grown up together, we're pretty sure they'll all get along.
We plan on letting them be free-range, but they have to stay in the coop until they get used to their new surroundings... maybe for a few weeks. Compared to their previous home (a wire crate), the coop Matt has built them is a "palace". We hope they enjoy their new home!!
Jesse is dying to play with them... but they're still a little shy. We plan to visit them often so they'll get more comfortable with us. Take a look at the other pics, and see what a great job Matt did with the coop!
